City of Twin Falls Seeks Applicants for Historic Preservation Commission Vacancy

The City of Twin Falls is currently accepting applications to fill a vacancy on the Historic Preservation Commission. The position is open for immediate appointment.

The Historic Preservation Commission serves in an advisory capacity to the Twin Falls City Council and plays a key role in protecting and celebrating the community’s historic character. The volunteer commission meets on the first Monday of each month at 2 p.m. The City is seeking a resident who lives within Twin Falls city limits and has an interest or experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • History
  • Architectural history
  • Architecture
  • Landscape architecture
  • Urban planning
  • Engineering
  • Archaeology
  • Law
  • Property ownership within one of the locally recognized historic districts: Warehouse District, City Park District, or Downtown District

Commission members review Certificate of Appropriateness applications, participate in community outreach efforts, and assist with grant applications to support historic preservation projects. From time to time, members may also volunteer outside of regular meeting hours to help plan, participate in, or research special projects and events.
