Responsibilities

The City of Twin Falls Street Department is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all city streets, alleys and rights of way. These responsibilities include:

  • Grading and dust guarding of all gravel streets and alleys
  • Major and minor roadway repair
  • Plowing / sanding / deicing
  • Pothole patching
  • Roadway marking
  • Signals
  • Signs
  • Sweeping of all city streets and blacktop alleys

The Street Department places cones and barricades for parades and other community events. 

Area of Responsibility

The Street Department is currently responsible for maintaining 660 lane-miles of city streets. The department is also responsible for plowing and winterizing more than 270 lane miles, and it maintains park access such as the Shoshone Grade and Canyon Springs Grade.
