This department maintains a 24-hour emergency repair service after hours and on weekends; that number is 311.
DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES: include maintenance of the entire water distribution network This includes repairing all water breaks in sizes ranging from 3/4-inch up to and including 36-inch mains. All fire hydrants, gate valves, pressure regulators, cross-connections protection devices belonging to the City and all water meters are also maintained by this department.
PROGRAMS: maintained by this department include cross-connection enforcement, replacing broken gate valves, installing all new meters and rebuilding old ones, and sterilizing all new water mains installed by contractors.
The department is also responsible for the following:
- To supply approximately 4.8 billion gallons of drinking water to the citizens of Twin Falls.
- To operate and maintain four water-pumping stations.
- To operate and maintain six well systems totaling 10 wells.
- To monitor wells up gradient of the City wells to ensure water quality.
- To test the drinking water so that it meets all state and federal drinking water standards.
