The primary purpose of the Wastewater Collection system is to convey contaminated wastewater from the city's residential, commercial nd industrial districts to the treatment plant. The system includes approximately 157 miles of line ranging in size from 6 to 42 inches in diameter, approximately 2750 manholes, 5 pumping stations, 1 air injection station, 2 measuring stations and an anaerobic pretreatment facility.
For questions concerning non-emergency sewer problems, call 735-7265 during normal working hours, Monday through Friday. Emergency sewer or after business hour problems should be directed to 911.
The work crews in the Wastewater Collection department perform inspections, root control, clean and repair lines as well as make system connections and digline locations.
