When it’s not raining or snowing and the temperatures are above freezing, workers from the Street Department are out in full force. After the winter season, it’s clearly time to clean the usual sand and dirt from the streets that has accumulated. Not only does cleaning sand from the roads help preserve the pavement, but it makes our city look better. Clean streets give visitors a good impression of Twin Falls, and living in a tidy-looking town helps us all feel proud to be here. Sweeping also aids in dust control during the spring and summer months.
The city owns four sweepers and two flush trucks. As a rule, two sweeper trucks and one flush truck work together to clean each street. The workers start out cleaning the main streets in town and then spread out to the side streets and subdivisions.
You can do your part in helping to keep Twin Falls a pleasant town by keeping rubbish out of the gutters.
