Garbage Collection Brochure
PSI will pick up –
- All refuse unfit for food and subject to decay;
- Leaves, weeds, lawn clippings;
- Trees up to 6 ft. in length and weigh no more than 50 lbs.;
- For large items such as furniture, applicances, carpet, etc., call 733-444 to have them picked up at no extra charge.
Will NOT pick up --
- Tree limbs larger than 6 ft. in length or heavier than 50 lbs.;
- Sod;
- Discarded dirt or earth debris from construction or lawn renovation, rocks, stones, automobile bodies and parts, dead animals, manure, building materials such as mortar, plastic, scrap lumber and wood shavings;
- Garbage on New Year's Day, Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas if those holidays occur on a week day. The pickup will be one day later after the holiday, and the regular pickup schedule will commence the following Monday.
DO -
- Keep the garbage weight down to no more than 50 lbs. for containers between 20-32 gallons manufactured for trash removal;
- Plastic bags not more than 35 lbs.;
- Put garbage out by 7 a.m.;
- Remove cans as soon as possible after garbage pickup;
DO NOT -
- Use containers not intended for garbage pickup;
- Overload plastic bags;
- Use paper bags as trash can liners or trash containers.
- Use vacant property for dumping yard waste, debris, rubbish or garbage
PLEASE DO-
- Keep your alley clean of weeds and rubbish;
- Keep trees branches trimmed at least 13 feet high from the street, and also keep branches trimmed so that pole lines are clear;
- Keep intersections clear of obstructions such as bushes, tree branches, storage buildings, etc.
