Temporary Lane Restrictions and Traffic Controls for Eastland/Pole Line Expansion Project

Drivers should expect lane-restrictions and temporary traffic controls in the area of Eastland Drive North and Pole Line Road beginning Monday, April 9 through June.

During that time, traffic will be restricted to two lanes that will be narrowed to approximately eleven feet wide on each lane. Due to large traffic volumes on Eastland Drive and Pole Line Road, no left turns will be allowed at intersections within the construction area. Drivers should expect delays and are asked to use alternate routes around the construction area.

Additional traffic changes include road closures on the west side of Eastland Drive at Bitterroot Drive, South Temple Drive, North Temple Drive, Cheney Drive, and road closures on the south side of Pole Line Road at Mountain View Drive. Julie Lane and Candle Ridge Drive west of Eastland will have temporary closures when work is occurring, but they will remain open otherwise for access to businesses and residences located west of Eastland Drive and south of Pole Line Road.

All street accesses on the east side of Eastland Drive and north of Pole Line Road will remain open during this phase of the Eastland/Pole Line Expansion Project. The two-lane configuration will be in place until the project is completed in August. Traffic will be shifted to the west side of Eastland Drive North and the south side of Pole Line Road in June to allow the contractor to construct the other half of the roadway.

The Eastland/Pole Line Expansion Project will rebuild and widen a significant portion of Eastland Drive North. The project will eliminate current bottlenecks to increase safety and traffic flow, and it will replace winter road damage. The project is funded with $1.2 million from State Emergency Road Funds, as well as reserves from the city’s street fund.
