Portions of Rock Creek Canyon Trail to Close for Sewer Line Replacement

The City of Twin Falls will begin work to replace a sewer line running underneath Rock Creek Trail in Rock Creek Canyon on Monday, July 24th. The work, being done by Extreme Excavation, is within a very confined area and requires that the trail be closed during construction to ensure public safety. The closure is expected to continue until early December. Access to the trail will be closed near the City Parks and Recreation building and at Victory Bridge. This work will not affect the trail that runs through Rock Creek Park north of Addison Avenue.

The project includes the replacement of nearly a mile of sewer line that was installed in the 1960’s. The old line was installed to serve the City south of Rock Creek Canyon and has reached capacity. The new sewer line is larger, up to 36 inches in diameter in some areas, and will allow for future growth south of Rock Creek for many years into the future.
